Unlock TR2 Remastered Secret Level: No Glitches Guide (2026)

Tomb Raider II Remastered has a hidden level sitting behind a lot of exploring, and you don't need a single glitch to get to it. Here's how "The Secret Level", better known as "Nightmare in Vegas", actually unlocks.

What You Need First

Same unlock as the original game, so there's a bit of work involved:

  1. Collect all 48 secrets across the main game (3 dragon statues per level)
  2. Finish the game with all of them in hand

That's it. There's no code to enter and nothing to unlock in a menu.

Visual Cues in the Remastered Version

Remastered throws you a bone or two while you're hunting:

  • Small Eidos and Core Design logos flash up near secrets as a subtle hint
  • The stopwatch in your inventory shows how many secrets you've found in the current level

What a Secret Actually Looks Like

Every level has three dragon statues:

  • Silver dragon statue
  • Jade dragon statue
  • Gold dragon statue

Grab one and you'll hear the chime, same as it's always been.

What You Get Out Of It

The hidden level isn't the only payoff:

  • Find all three secrets in a level and you get bonus items, usually ammunition, sometimes weapons or medipacks
  • The end-of-level statistics screen shows your secret collection progress
  • 100% completion is on the table once you've found everything

Getting Into the Level

You don't have to do anything. Finish the game with all 48 secrets and "Nightmare in Vegas" loads by itself once the final statistics screen is done with, so the run carries straight on into it.

If the game ends and you're back at the menu instead, you've missed at least one secret somewhere.

Differences Between Original and Remastered

The unlock is unchanged, you just get a bit of extra help:

  • Better visual cues for finding secrets

The Golden Mask Expansion

The TR2 Remastered collection also comes with The Golden Mask expansion, which has its own levels and its own secrets. Secrets work much the same way there, but it's separate from the main game's secret level unlock requirements.
