Blaze Entertainment has officially released the second installment of their Tomb Raider partnership with Crystal Dynamics, bringing the final chapters of Lara Croft's classic 32-bit era to their retro gaming platform.
Continuing the Physical Legacy
Following the tremendous success of their first Tomb Raider collection, Evercade's new Tomb Raider Collection 2 cartridge features Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation and Tomb Raider: Chronicles in their original glory. According to Andrew Byatt, CEO of Blaze Entertainment, these releases maintain the authentic experience of the original 32-bit CD games while incorporating minor tweaks to enhance performance on modern displays.
"The response to the first collection of Tomb Raider 32-bit CD games was incredible," Byatt shared. "We love that not only the Evercade community but also the Tomb Raider fans all joined in to make that release very special."
Exclusive Bonus Content Makes History
What truly sets this collection apart is the inclusion of a previously PC-exclusive bonus level from Tomb Raider: The Last Revelation. Originally distributed with The Times newspaper in the UK, this rare level has now been ported from its PC origins into the 32-bit console engine.
This marks the first time this bonus content has been available in the original game format on console, offering a unique experience even for longtime fans. The level is seamlessly incorporated into the game and selectable directly from The Last Revelation's in-game menu.
While the recent Tomb Raider 4-6 Remasters included a remastered version of this level, Evercade's approach offers players the chance to experience it with the original game's look and feel—preserving an important piece of gaming history.
Expanding the Evercade Ecosystem
Tomb Raider Collection 2 is available now, along with the still-available Tomb Raider Collection 1 for those who missed the first release. Both collections can be purchased individually or bundled with Evercade hardware.
Since the launch of the first Tomb Raider collection, Evercade has expanded their hardware line to include the Evercade Alpha bartop arcade unit, meaning players can now experience these classic Tomb Raider adventures in an arcade cabinet format as well.
"If you're an Evercade fan, a Tomb Raider fan or just curious about how the classic era was originally played, these amazing titles are waiting to be uncovered once more by adventurers young and old," Byatt concluded.
TLDR;
Evercade has released Tomb Raider Collection 2, featuring The Last Revelation and Chronicles in their original 32-bit format. The collection includes a special bonus: a rare level previously only available on PC that has been fully converted to the original console engine for the first time ever. Both this and the previous collection are available now, playable across all Evercade hardware including their new bartop arcade system.
